walk this way

I've always had in my mind - even before I had a baby - that all my babies would walk on their first birthday. It seemed the first birthday was a huge landmark, and why not make it more memorable than by taking your first steps that day? Our daughter must have known my thoughts. Bianca decided to wait to start walking until she had an audience. An audience she had, indeed - all the grandparents, a cousin, and 2 uncles were here to see. She sure showed off her new skills. I've never seen someone so proud of herself. Derek and I weren't sure if this was something we should worry about or what....

She LOVES her push'em toys. She is walking with no problems as long as one is by her side. Without the toy, she's a bit unsteady, but has no problems taking a few steps all alone. Little Miss Independent.

We think maybe it was the new shoes that made her so athletic.

Publix is Bianca's favorite place to go. I don't know why. Maybe because she loves food? I think it has something to do with the free cookie she gets everytime we stop at the bakery. Or maybe it's the little old ladies who stop and squeal along with her when she smiles and laughs. Either way, she ends up with a mess all over her, and a balloon to boot.
